  5. The new Kenwood 721 mobile dual band rig may be simply converted to a cross-
  6. band repeater. This should only be used for the purposes of RAYNET as it your
  7. licence does not cover you for cross-band operation of this sort without a
  8. talkthrough permit.

  10. The mod entails the removal of R121, which is located on the board behind the
  11. control panel. The resistor is above and to the right of the backup battery,
  12. and is nearest the edge of the board. A word with Lowe's should provide the
  13. (fairly essential) diagram.

  15. To activate the facility, press the "F" button followed within 5 seconds) by
  16. the "ABC" button. A small dot (.) will appear after the first three figures
  17. on each frequency display. Pressing the sequence of "F" and "ABC" will toggle
  18. the rig back to normal operation again.
